Paco  began his education with a degree in psychology at the Université Lumière Lyon II (Lyon, France) and then pursued studies in international relations at the University of Geneva, concluding with a Master’s degree in International Economic History. He is currently pursuing his education on a MSc. on Business Analytics at the University of Geneva. This diverse educational background has enabled him to develop a deep understanding and analytical capacity regarding issues at the intersection of economics and human rights.

Regarding his engagement with SHRG, Paco began his journey as a volunteer, dedicating his efforts to advocating for the Declaration on Diversity. He currently serves as the Chief Administrative Officer and as a representative to the United Nations and other international organisations in both Geneva and New York. Leveraging his background in economics, Iván’s work focuses on social development, financing for development, and the right to development. He is also an active member of the NGO committees on Social Development and Financing for Development in New York.

In 2015 I achieved a BSc Econ degree in Politics & International Relations and by 2020 I had completed my MSc Econ degree in International Relations. For both my degrees my dissertation topic was looking into the suspected genocide of the Uighur’s in Xinjiang, China. Within these research pieces I looked further into the crimes against humanity especially against the Uighur women and children and minorities more generally. Over the past 2 years I have specialised further in menstrual and reproductive health and issues surrounding the criminalisation of sexuality and reproduction.

I began working with the Sikh Human Rights Group in December 2020.

Eight years ago I embarked upon my vastly rewarding and transformational journey to obtaining an undergraduate degree (LLB) in Law and Business; a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Human Rights Law and Practice; a Master of Laws (LLM) in Bar Practice (immigration and asylum law); and finally a Very Competent in the Bar Professional Training Course. I was called to the Bar of England and Wales in May 2021. I began working with the Sikh Human Rights Group in November 2020.
